"Wimbledon" raised the money with 7%

The British Open Tennis `Wimbledon` ads to increase the total prize fund by 7 percent to 26.75 million pounds (40.9 million dollars). The news said the chairman of the "All England Club" Philip Brook. So the legendary tournament on grass in London is the richest in the Grand Slam.

The increase of the money from 2011 until today is with the whopping 152%.

The champions will receive a single check for 1.88 million pounds. For comparison, last year Novak Djokovic and Petra Kvitova took each 1.76 million.

Brook said that the tennis players who drop out in the first round of the main draw of "Wimbledon" will leave with 29,000.

Earlier and "Roland Garros" announced an increase of the prize money for this year by 12 percent to 29.61 million dollars.
