The two best-of-a-kind tennis players are now facing each other in the final of the Masters Series in Indian Wells - Roger Federer vs. Juan Martin del Potro. The Maestro registers the 17th consecutive victory since the beginning of the year and has recorded a personal record for a successful start of the season and the Tandil Tower has ten successive successes on the courts. For the Argentine, this is the fourth final in the Masters Tournament and the first in Shanghai 2013, hoping to raise his first ATP title. The Swiss surpassed Ivan Lendle with a 147th overall in his career, hoping for 98 titles of all tournaments, including 28 Masters.
`Federer did not look impressive on the court against Borna Chorich in the semifinals and was twice behind a break after losing the first set, but managed to make a twist against the 20-year-old Croat. Del Potro was uncompromising against the rebounding Milos Raconic and gave him only five games. This v ictory was the jubilee 400 for Del Potro, who is only the second Argentinian in history with so many won games, after Guyermo Villas (929).
Federer has won 18 of 24 matches with Del Potro, with 9 of the last 11 being settled in the final set, including the 19:17 epic 19:17 maestro at the London Olympics 2012. But the Argentine has the advantage of meeting the Maestro infinals - 3:2 wins. Tandil`s last big win at the US Open quarterback was 2017 when he eliminated Federer in four sets.
We have had many challenged matches in the past. Big games. I remember the Roland Garros semi-final, the US Open final, the Olympic semi-finals, the finals in Basel, Shanghai, several ATP Finals. We basically play decisive sets, so it will be an exciting collision. Both of us will be trying to wipe out the good sides of the other, thinking that we both like to play against each other, `says Federer. I love playing with Roger, always the games analyzed by buy tennis picks between us are great. He`s the favorite, but I`ll try everything. I`ve been defeated and I know what is required. It would be good to compare my level with his at this stage of the tennis season, `commented the Tower of Tandil.
