Ruthless Nadal created difficulties to Zverev

World No. 1 Rafael Nadal reminded everyone why he was called the King of Delay. The 31-year-old left-hander defeated 6:1, 6:4, 6:4 fourth in the world rankings Alexander Zverev in the fourth match of the 1/4-final Davis Cup encounter in the World Group between Spain and Germany. Thus Rafa equalized the score in the match - 2:2 wins. Yesterday Germany took a 2-1 lead after the pair`s match, and at the fifth crucial meeting today, veterans David Ferrer and Philip Collbersberger are currently playing.

Nadal returned to the Davis Cup this week after a two-month absence from the courts because of a thigh problem. On Friday he beat 6:2, 6:2, 6:3 Kolshireber, and today he was merciless against Zverev.

Meanwhile, the US and France have already qualified for the 1/2-finals. The Americans led with 3:0 victories against Belgium, and the cocks eliminated Italy, taking an insurmountable advance of 3:1. The French are waiting in the next phase Spain or Germany. Croatia is leading with 2:1 in Kazakhstan and is also very close to the semifinals.
