Stan Wawrinka has triumphed in Rotterdam

Stan Wawrinka won the 42nd edition of the tennis tournament in Rotterdam hall in the category "ATP 500". In the final, in which he has played in front of over than 9,000 spectators in "Ahoy" the fourth placed Swiss beat defending champions No3 of the scheme Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic with 4: 6, 6: 3, 6: 4 in 1 hour and 58 minutes game.

After the equivalent beginning Berdych has reached the break points and has placed it to lead with 4: 3. In the final game the Czech has served for the set. He reached the point of winning, but Wawrinka saved it with a powerful forehand on the diagonal. In his turn, the tennis player from Lausanne was able to return the attack at the last possible moment, but his opponent went out with an excellent service. In the second set-ball the 29-years old Tomas succeeded and won the part after 39 minutes game.

In the second part the errors of both players became more frequent, perhaps because of the great tension. Wawrinka managed to reach the break points in the eighth game and then made a forehand into the net of the opponent. Immediately Tovi Stan has served for the set at 5: 3 and raised his fist triumphantly after exquisite backhand winner.

The Czech did not withstand mental and let a break in the first part of the game. Federer had a luck, because at the last point the ball stopped in the bar of the net and fell right into his opponent. This gave wings to Wawrinka, who made another break for 4: 1 after precision passing attack. Berdych decided not to give up without a fight and immediately gave back a break. But for more, there were no options. Tomas affect one championship point at 3: 5, but in the next game Stan has lead with 40:1 and has rejoiced after a ball out of the Czech.

So Wawrinka has become the fourth for Swiss with a title in Rotterdam after Gyunthard Heinz, Jakob Hlasek and Roger Federer. Berdych did not managed to become the first defended his title in "Ahoy" after Robin Soderling in 2011.

"It was a difficult week! I am happy that after 10 years I have managed to win in my appearance here. Tomas made a great game, for which I congratulate him. Thanks for the organizers of this excellent held tournament It was a pleasure for me to play here. Next year, I hope to become a champion again, "said after awarding the 29-years old Stan Wawrinka.
